There was one of those"also on hefty" things about an elephant that was shot 86 times after she broke loose and went on a rampage.

There's something going on with an elephant from a circus right now here in Germany too; at first I thought you were talking about that one. Somehow she got loose too and attacked a passenger. Turned out that animal rights organisations already mentioned it several times - cause of the way the elephant was kept in that circus she started turning aggressive towards humans. I'd probably turn aggressive too, if treated that way...

At least for now this one is safe... she's in a big animal park now. But she'll never have a chance to live a free elephant's life :-/

I never liked circus anyway...
