Did you ever wonder who will replace James Horner?
Would Thomas Bergersen be a good substitute?
How about John Williams?
Or maybe... I don't know, you name him/her?

According to his latest work I would also be quite happy with Ramin Djawadi.

Not exactly the same style like Horner, but sounds quite nice.

Well - he's obviously very capable of catching the 'essence' of the needed mood, versatile enough and he has a base to work on (and showed with his work for GoT how well he can translate story development into 'sound them development' . For a world like Pandora I personally want to hear more than 'just' epic scores (which is why the original OST was so good).

I know what you mean - merely "epic" doesn't catch the essence of the world.
