Back in after a long day spent in the sun
There was the first medieval market of the year in the area. The guys usually have a big riding hall as a backup, but somehow everyone was outside. I might even have a slight sunburn in the face.

Hey Kiy
Ah ... I'm always jealous whn you say things like that. i spent the whole day inside. Mom and I were in the garden for an hour or so yesterday, but the wind was just too chilly. And today mom said she didn't wanted to go outside, as she's too exhausted and tired. So alone, without any place to go to in mind I just stayed at home. Hm. Thinking about it I can't imagine this every to change. *shrugs*
Good to hear you had a nice day.

Yeah, I know that it's always a bit cooler in your corner of the country. And it's been unusually warm here - last year that time we still had snow *brrrrr*
Places to go: If there's nothing else to do I usually just take a book and head to the nearest cafe. Of course I could read on my balcony as well, but sometimes I just need to see something else. And if it's just the courtyard of the icecream parlour around the corner.

Ah well .... I don't like to read outside of my own space (it makes me nervous and I can't enjoy the read at all - this is why I also don't read on vacation), I don't have a book at my hands that would be worth reading at the moment, going to a cafe isn't for free either.
All in all it just somehow doesn't fit my needs (or something). I know- I'm special.

Back for a bit.
Last Saturday ...
me to mom: You know I thought I should bring some cake to dancing too (and we're going to head out for a cocktail afterwards).
mom: Ok - then think of something.
me. Hmm ... what about muffins? Easier to transport and doable.
mom: Ok .. I just don't know how to do it.
me: But it should be easy to find a recipe online.
And guess what I came home to today?
Everything except the flowers on the left is hand-made ... I mean WTH? She even did little rose decorations. My mom totally went on a baking rampage!
Sorry that the pic is so blurred.

Monnng -_-
Sometimes I ask myself for how long someone can live with so little sleep until the first signs of organ failure will show (thinking of it my eyes are seemingly getting worse .. this 'world' is way too costy).

Morning
I ran thin on sleep (work related) for about 6 years... it sucks and I was permanently tired, but there were no organ failures or something.
Funny enough the lack of sleep was absolutely no problem when it was caused by long nights spent with cross-continent communication... so my theory is that the mindset matters too: One feels it more when the lack of sleep is forced and not volutary.

Eh - I'm highly unsure there. I always hated lack of sleep, as long as I can remember. One of the reasons why I always shooed (and still shoo) away from going out is simply that I am too tired for this and I hate being tired. Especially when there's no opportunity to sleep longer the next day. I hated school for taking my sleep, I hated the uni for taking my sleep and now I hate work for taking my sleep.
Sleep is way more essential than work will ever be though.

I guess I should try to get back into the habit of checking in.
The weather here in Ontario is driving Ato crazy. Yesterday it was sunny and 10C, and all of the snow was melting away, today it's -4C (dropping to -16C tonight) and we're in the middle of a blizzard with 15-24cm of snow predicted.

And you know that snow is going to make commuting very slow, but last Saturday I bought a Toyota Prius hybrid car, so now I don't mind the stop-and-go traffic any more since the gas engine shuts off and the car runs completely off of the battery so I don't use any gas. Now I almost enjoy the traffic because I can look at the 0.0L/100km on the fuel economy display and laugh at the idiots in their gas guzzling SUV's.

Morning -_-
As if the theoretical amount of sleep I could get per night wasn't little already my body not only refuses to fall asleep fast (something I know for years now .. maybe I should try 6pm as the time when I go t obed) in the last few days it wakes me up an hour early (today at 3:15) ..... why?

Wife had and still has that problem... She can't sleep when she suppose to. So basically, what we discovered was that if she is not under stress, and happy, it goes away. Well, not completely, but she sleeps a lot better then.

I know, have that too now and then... of course that's the Circle Of Death, cause lack of sleep stresses you more, so you sleep less, what causes more stress. Meh!
(And don't get me started on the nights I wake up at 4 or so, just to turn around and around for hours brooding dark thoughts, just to fall back asleep 10 minutes before the alarm goes off)
Good morning

Sounds exactly what my wife says almost every day...
So, what's the solution? Even if I take the kids on a vacation, like 10 days, and leave her to rest, she would not rest at all

Back home.
This is why I said I start to ask myself for how long one can go with that without collapsing.
Hm - not just 'dark' thoughs for me, just thoughts ... so many of them.
Random: The other day the sign of the car that drove in front of me was ... NOM

Thanks
It's just one day of vacation, but it's more than nothing at all. Didn't expect the weather to be that awesome, but I sure don't complain
