We need to re-enact the Salem Witch Burning's, but substitute the Witches with politicians, and use real kindling and fire. It must appear as real as real can get, right?

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
Bogo, sadly in this world, politicians will NEVER be held liable for not keeping their promises made during elections. And people still believe them. For example, the whole of Nigeria, with nearly 200,000,000 people living in it has a total installed output capacity of all power plants of approx. 4500 MW. My little Serbia with under 10,000,000 people has some 10,000 MW. So, at least 20 times smaller country (in terms of population) generates over twice the amount of electricity, making it over 40 times better in that aspect. And yet, Nigerian politicians, during every and each election promise to solve the power supply problem within 2 to 3 years, but of course, only if THEY are elected. Even the USA could not increase the power output THAT MUCH, THAT QUICKLY (40 times, within 2 to 3 years). Politicians tend to promise all sorts of things, without even having any basic clue of how to turn the plans into reality.
Well, this is just my ranting...

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
Basically elections are just "choosing the lesser evil", no? I don't believe in any of those promises, just try to find out which one of the political parties is the least far away from my own opinions and they get my mark.
I think there might even be some people starting out in the political business (and it IS a business about money, wealth and most of all power) with some high ideals and wanting to make the world a little bit better. And then they either get frustrated and stop, or they adjust and learn to survive in that pool of sharks; usually those high ideals from the start don't survive though. Whoever makes it to the top is there cause their elbows are just a bit harder and sharper than the rest - the idealists got lost on the way long ago :-/
I know a few politicians I'd happily put on Bogo's pile for the re-enactment.

Don't even get me starting there - we will have elections here in about a week from here.
Lampposts and lawns are plastered with bad designed posters, sporting stupid 'taglines' and questionable photos/graphics.
The most annoying being those very right winged parties. The most hypocrite and delusional being the AFD the most stupid - surprise surprise - the NPD.
Want an example?
"Heimat braucht Kinder. Homoehe verbieten." aka ""Homeland needs children. Forbid gay-marriage."
What the actual flyin fack? Someone obviously didn't get how certain things work at all.
This is the level of stupid I am having here right now and I doubt it'll get any better. I know people are insecure, but they are putting the blame for the wrong things on the wrong people in the wrong direction - as always.
And I have to be worried. I can feel the change of mood everywhere and things are getting more dangerous for me again by just leaving the house.
Dark glares and cold winds whenever I just walk along. A few weeks ago when I was just having a walk with my mom a woman who came across from the opposite direction just started yelling at me, beign really agressive and obviously insulting (though, I admit I only understood "Africa" and "back" as she apparently thoght my german surely must be so bad she only spoke a weird version of 'wrong' german). WTH?
People suck.

There we go again. Racist. It's dumber than religion. People are what they are and can't change that. Color shouldn't be something populations should shun, like leprosy. A person can be super intelligent. A mob is absolutely dumb.

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
This makes me sick to my bones! I really thought our country and people had learned their lesson about racism, but it seems very obvious there are a lot of people who haven't.
I just can't wrap my mind around that kind of thinking (I know the posters and pictures you're talking about Elyris, we had them last winter too), it's wrong on so many levels that I don't even know where to start. It's stupid, evil, narrow-minded... you name it.
Nobody, absolutely nobody should judge anyone else for the colour of their skin, the nation they're coming from, who they decide to love...
And what scares and upsets me most is that I can hear comments and opinions that make me sick and angry from people I wouldn't have it expected from, people I actually liked so far

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
Kiy, people as a large group are, in general, quite dumb and very easy to manipulate. Media is heavily filtered. Let me take a hot topic of migrants and "migrants", for example. Most of the time, in media you can see, hear or read about quite evil stuff, such is sexual harassment, theft, burglaries, even murders. However, it is quite hard to see other stuff. But, in reality, when you have to deal with a huge group of people, both good and bad things happen. For example, around the time it all started, some time in 2014, we had heavy floods in Serbia (and also in Croatia and Bosnia). What happened here in Serbia, and especially in Belgrade as a main transit point for migrants, was that we got big group of middle-eastern men helping in flood protection, relief and recovery efforts. last year, around this time of the year, near the main station in Belgrade, a driver has tried to make a sharp right turn with his car, but at high speed. he ended up upside down, and driver was half outside, alive, but could not get from under the car. Nearby is the big park and favourite gathering spot for migrants. Within seconds, some 30 men gathered and effortlessly lifted the car and saved the driver. I do believe that a significant number of them are not coming to Europe for economic or safety reasons, but there are still a lot of honest people among them.
Anyway, my point was, media is filtered, biased, you name it, with the only purpose to shape the public opinion.
As for the elections, one photo illustrates my opinion quite well:

I think you have the wrong image for the after elections.

They usually get fat. And mean. And disrespectful. Right?

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
@Kiy: Indeed. Even in my own family I can see it. I mena - how stupid is that? Talking about "them" and how bad it is "they come here" and that they should go away again .... does anyone notice how I look ??? Like for real - do they even think about how it would look from the outside - to others ?
It's so stupid I am out of words.
@boss: Exactly. The medias as well as the politicians are not doing anyone a favour there. Instead of just saying how it is and ´keeping their cool it's all extremely biased and ridiculous and usually one should laugh about suhc stupidity, but sadly it triggers what was well (and sometimes not so well) hidden all the time. After all people obviously never got over "white supremacy" at all.
To me it's not even an issue - everybody should be free to choose where he goes and when and where to live. No one sees it as a problem when germans go to the USA or something to 'live their dream', but when some poor shmock stripped of his land, pressured into big city slums tries to somehow get out of this he's a 'economy refugee' and therefore a bad bad person.
The fack? If this logic would be true everyone on eropean descent should leave the US right now as the vast majority of them left for 'economic reasons'.
This is not only hypocrisy, it's shizophrenic.
Always the same cowpoo - there are rules for 'us' and other rules for everyone else.
I could say a lot about all of this, how stupid it is and how it won't work out in the end, but actually I wanted so say today:
I really hurt myself yesterday, being stupid myself. Trying to ge the lid off of a bottle the neck of the bottle broke and cut a piece of flesh directly from under the nail of my right thumb (serioulsy - I could see that part of my body still clinging to the broken glass). It bled like mad and hurt even more.
I just took an hour of my time to change my bandage (luckily I still have some reserves from University and some better first aid stuff hanging around).
It's really annoying.
I hope your days are going better.

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
Mmmmhm - nope, not actually doing much better. It's one of those "used" days, as I call them.
The plan was going for a swim today, but woke up completely dizzy, foggy in the head and with a huge headache.
So I skipped swimming and instead spent my day on the couch, reading... and of course managed to somehow let my iPad slip, the edge of it hitting my lip so bad it was bleeding. I look like coming out of a brawl at the moment and my head is STILL foggy.
Guess I better go back to bed early today.

Unfortunately Aspirine kills my stomach. Did use some Ibuprofene though for at least the headache. Still got a "thick lip" this morning, but at least my head is much clearer now and - yay - my room ain't spinning anymore around me.
@Elyris: Agreed to anything you wrote up there! Including the fact that it's hypocritical to blame people trying to find a better life somewhere. Hunger can kill you just as sure as a bomb to your head - it just takes longer and is more painful.
@Bogo:
I like that evil expression in his eyes going with the stuck out tongue
Guess we got both kinds of politicians out there - the fat and evil ones as well as the sleek contemptuous ones. Put them all into one huge bag, take a huge bat and hit... you'll always hit the right one.

My thumb got a little better, actually (and it better should be). But it really sucks, not being able to wash my hair or shower - especially with those temperatures. I hope it'll be good enough for that in about a day or two.
@Kiy: The worst thing about such a thick lip is how people will react to the explanation. I once lost a tooth (one of my milk teeth) because I didn't payed attention and ran into a door. That was pretty weird to explain too.
Watching that video I immediately got reminded of this

Not being able to shower would kill me at the moment...at the weekend I hit the shower for two times per day
Thick lip: Exactly that. I'm so looking forward to tomorrow in the office - not.
Luckily I'm working from home today and kinda hope it's less visible tomorrow.

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
Alright - yesterday definitely sucked!
All went well until the evening... heading to my bi-weekly Larp meeting, sitting down in the restaurant, my drink had just appeared and I was deciding for what to eat... when my phone rang. My mom - she had lost her keys and couldn't get into the house and my uncle (who has the other replacement key) wasn't at home. So I dropped everything, drove to my mom (hungry like hell), let her into her house and headed to the next pizza parlour, hoping that was it for the night.
Nope. Coming home I found a huge, ugly SUV standing on my private parking lot and nobody knew who it belonged to. So I needed to find a free parking lot somewhere else on the street, walk home carrying all my stuff, and when I decided to get rid of all that pissed off adrenaline in my body and take a quick round through the interwebz - well, my laptop completely refused to fire up.
Gaaaah!

Re: A real pain in the txim and handling zombies thread...
What a morning!
Started with waking up with a headache, so I decided to take it slow... well, first thing I had to do was go Na'vi and save a tree. There's that small one in front of my balcony. It's a resting place for birds when they come to my feeder and a jumping bridge for "my" squirrel in wintertime as well.
So I was already alerted from the hellish noise straight below my window (goes awesome with my headache, yay!), stepped out and found them with a huge motor saw just starting to work at my tree... well, I managed to talk them into not felling the tree, but they're still busy working in the garden outside - with every single noise-making machinery there is. Grrrrrrrr! My head feels as if it's gonna explode

Well, I just got back from the Urologist in regards to that teeny-tiny kidney stone that first showed up about 5 or 6 years ago. I kind of forgot that as time goes by, people and bills mature. So do kidney stones. The Dr. told me that mine is over 2cm.
Said he needs to go in from the back to extract it.
I wonder if eye surgery leaves a scar.
I'm starting to rack em up.
