@flighter: It's not the Monday in itself - if work would start on Tuesdays it'd be Tuesdays that suck. It's the getting up in the middle of the night... somehow I always feel tired and as if I don't get enough sleep. Workweeks and my biorhythm just don't match.

Eh, now I work from 8am to 4pm. However, From December 1st till March 31st, I would get up at 05:30, hop on the train at 6:15, and hardly ever return home before 5:30 PM, and in the meantime work in a factory hall without sufficient safety equipment... Now, it is a pure office work.

Well - 'modern' work isn't healthy I guess.

Modern work isn't healthy... but working in quite bad working conditions isn't either, literally. I was working in a quite cold factory hall (no heating, on January 3rd, it was sub-zero INDOORS!), dust extraction system wasn't installed yet. To illustrate how dusty it was, every morning we would face a layer of dust few millimeters thick, from the previous day of work. Then, the machine itself was 5 tons heavy CNC milling machine. Sometimes, pieces of wood would break and fly fast enough to crush wall plastering. There suppose to be a protective wall around the machine but there wasn't any. There was nothing between me and the machine while it works. Why? The owner didn't think it is necessary. Never mind the safety of the worker. In other departments it was even worse. Carpenters would typically have 8 or 9 fingers intact, some even less. Dust problem there was even worse. Ladies painting the furniture suffered the most. Once I had to deliver something to the painting chamber. ventilation there was so bad and inefficient that I could not remain there for mroe than 2-3 minutes... Etc etc etc. In a normal society, the owner of the factory would be locked up for long, and not be able to bribe whoever he has to to get away with that... Not talking of owing 3 months salaries to his workers and kinda joking about it, as if it is normal stuff.
