1. Should I expect some christmas madness on the 20th of December in Zeil? I mean, will the place be overcrowded?

2. Any other good alternative for Christmas shopping, especially for the children?

Mmmhm - it's gonna be crowded, that's true. But if you're coming with your kids it should be a good place. By now the Christmas market has grown up to the Zeil, so you can stroll along there and get some Christmas atmosphere... it's really nice there.

You won't find any mall that's not crowded that time of the year.

Ah, no... I suppose to arrive alone from Nigeria on the 20th morning... do the shopping, stay at the hotel and go to the airport around 6:30 next morning And, yes, probably exchange some gifts for some goods with someone there
