Doing work-related stuff at home?
When will you become a full staff (meaning, fully paid)?

Yup - work-related stuff at home on weekends.
Never. I'll be on this job for another 1,5 years and that's it. No full payment for me. I'ts also unlikely that this will ever change as here scientist are usually working in 'half-pay-full-time' positions (so that you know why you went to school the longest possible time and studied for another couple of years).

That's sad but true and I think it completely sucks.
And you can even consider yourself lucky with finding a job as a scientist (as crappy as they are)... it never worked for me.

Things are truly messed up and yet people are telling you that if things don't go 'as they should' it's entirely your fault.

Well, you have to get used to that attitude in people. If deep inside you know something is not your fault, You need to gain some I DON'T CARE attitude and of course without being rude.

"Without being rude" might be a problem, as everything that's not as it 'should' is considered ot be either rude or a sign of mental illness.
Pressure here is very high on those wihtout 'work' (meaning paymen-based employee work) - they say "Every job is better than no job." and believe it is that way and all should be like it - it even holds danger to hint that you don't think that way. OS by now I talk less and less and surely not about anything wiht substance (maybe except some work details). It's like holdig your breath for 9 to 10 hours in a row every day. I feel exhausted.

Yeah, trying to fit in - or at least not raise any negative attention - can be exhausting, that's true.
