in 34 days, I will close the chapter of my life which lasted for 12 years, 4 days and 6 hours. I first landed in Lagos on May 16th, 2002. I will most likely leave Nigeria (for good) on June 20th around 22:15.

Oh, that reminds me, tomorrow is 12th anniversary of me coming here

Even with what's going on in Nigeria at the moment it has to feel strange... 12 years are a long time.

They are n Serbia since July 2013 so there they are perfectly safe. Yes, it feels good.

Eh, well... My hometown is at 103 meters above the mean sea level, and the river didn't flood for over 35 years now (due to extraordiinary efforts of our engineers), so we are quite safe. But, my guess is a lot of crops are damaged so this year food is going to be expensive

103m ? That's high enough. Hmmm - yeah ... we more or less had similar problems in the last years.

Around this time, last year, southern parts of Germany and parts of Austria were heavily flooded too

Yup. But that's how it is.

One of my co-workers suffered from that - they had their basement flooded two times - just when they had everything halfway dry again the next rainstorm came and the whole mess started again. Fun thing, it wasn't the river. It was the ground water pressing in from the mountain site.
